KEAN: Texas Children Now Pleading for Drug Sales to Be Outlawed

Texas is a great big place with many sub regions, and because the Lone Star State is so diverse, it can be very challenging to find laws that cover every need and protect each person equally.

According to this KVUE article, Texas passed a farming bill in 2019 that allowed for the sale of hemp edibles where the Delta THC level could not exceed .3%. When that bill became law businesses began selling those products with the dosage limitations, but there is nothing to stop the consumer from ingesting as many as they like at once in an effort to get high.
Texans for Safe and Drug-Free Youth have now taken their concerns to the steps of the Capitol in Austin to plead for lawmakers to implement more obstacles for children to gain access to all THC and alcopop products on store shelves. The packaging and snacks that the THC products are linked to are believed to be just too attractive.
