DALLAS COUNTY REGIONAL FORUM
Texans for Safe and Drug-Free Youth (TxSDY) partners with coalitions and organizations across the state to hold Regional Forums that explore ways communities can work together to address underage drinking and the associated consequences. The Forums help facilitate introductions between stakeholders in the community, increase collaboration and engagement, and mobilize participants to reduce underage drinking and impaired driving in a coordinated and strategic way.

TxSDY works statewide and with local communities to prevent youth substance use. To get involved in or learn more about our prevention efforts please contact Kayla Simon, TxSDY Director of Campaigns for Social Change ksimon@txsdy.org

IMPACT Garland- Dallas County

IMPACT Communities in Garland is a coalition that focuses on preventing youth substance use in their local community. With the help of local law enforcement, media campaigns and shifting policies to promote safer communities, we remain successful in bringing awareness to the community on this issue. Together, our work has provided resources for parents and guardians to remain aware of warning signs and symptoms that contribute to substance use. Funded by Drug Prevention Resources, our mission is to “create a drug-free generation through collaboration, education, innovation and advocacy.” Whether you're a parent, grandparent, member of law enforcement, the faith community or work in the school district, your voice has community impact and is needed to develop community programs that prevent substance use disorders among youth.
Want to join the citizens of Garland in our push for a drug-free community? Click here to become a member of IMPACT Communities or contact our coalition coordinator, Theresa Greissel, for more information. Coalition meetings are held monthly.
